Mapping a Surge of Disinformation in Africa

Disinformation targeting Africa has surged nearly fourfold in the past two years—to 189 documented campaigns targeting 39 countries. Sixty percent of these campaigns are foreign sponsored. Russia is by far the most active disseminator of these intentional efforts to distort Africa’s information space for political ends, with 80 documented disinformation campaigns targeting the continent....
