Who are we?

The BOOST Fellowship is a non-profit organization, whose core mission is to equip young people with Life Skills and build on capacity. We work with tertiary institutions within and beyond Zimbabwe. The BOOST Fellowship is organized to teach, train, empower and mentor students through its paradigm of “Entrepreneur Intelligence” and “Possibility-oriented Living”.  It is based in Harare, Zimbabwe, and works with youth, primarily University Students. It is currently operational in ten universities in Zimbabwe and has an average membership of 40 students per university, bringing to a total 400 students on the program countrywide.

Regional Exchange Program

  • To help foster the spirit of regional understanding and cooperation with young people in Africa.
  • To provide excellent opportunities for leadership and cultural experiences
  • To provide students with an opportunity to learn from one another
  • To afford the selected students an opportunity to experience the BOOST program and to explore different countries and meet new people.
  • To create an awareness of the BOOST program to young people in East Africa.

Through the exchange program, students are given an opportunity to immerse themselves in the BOOST activities, acquire life skills, experience life from a different point of view and expand their personal and professional perspectives.  The exchange program is being integrated into the program as an avenue to extend the BOOST program to other African countries.  The number of students participating on the exchange program shall be approximately 6, two from each participating country, namely Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The length of the exchange program will be 2 weeks.

Application details

During the 2 week stay, each student will be assigned a mentor.Upon completion of the program, students will be required to mobilize students in their home countries and investigate the personal and professional development needs that young people face.  The program participants will be a strategic resource to help BOOST achieve its goal of extending the BOOST program into other countries in the African region.  Based on international best practice experience in the area of student leadership development and engagement in comprehensive mentorship strategies, the BOOST Fellowship believes in its approach to stimulate youth development and participation in social and economic reconstruction in the Region.  In the context of the African region and its high youth unemployment and leadership issues, the added service from BOOST Fellowship will be a youth driven program where African youth are involved in determining their destiny and unleashing their potential to become change agents within their communities.  It is also desired that the program forms the basis of a regional student exchange initiative working through multinational companies, international development agencies and SADC inter-governmental cooperation programs of NEPAD.
