Africa… Headed to the Moon

It was in such a month when man defied the law of gravity, soared past the clouds and landed on the moon.

 

Comprising of three major components: the Command Module, the Service Module and the Lunar Module, the Apollo modules were lifted into earth orbit and sent on their way to the Moon by the massive Saturn V rocket, referred to as a 'booster'.

 

At a time when other continents are getting richer as Africa gets poorer, the continent needs to rethink strategies that will provide a high escape velocity from poverty to wealth creation.

 

The gravity of precautionary principles, high cost of production, high cost of doing business, trade barriers, conflict, piracy, illiteracy and poor governance are weighing the continent down. In addition, women participation in development has hit an all time low due to discrimination.

 

In this issue, authors examine factors that will provide the much-needed booster to make Africa aim high and ultimately launch her on the moon of prosperity.
