The 7th IREN Bukura Cultural Day: Prosperity Through Connectivity

The 7th IREN Bukura Cultural Day geared towards facilitating positive exposure for young people in Western Kenya to broaden their mission and vision in life, will be held on December 24, 2011 at Bukura, Kenya.

IMWO Agrovets, The Rural Youth Empowerment League in collaboration with the Inter Region Economic Network (IREN) welcome you to the 7th IREN Bukura Cultural Day. The annual cultural day's objective is to enable young people to have higher ambitions, get exposed to global trends, celebrate their youthful energies, nurture talent and assist in tackling problems of insecurity. Launched in 2005 December, the annual event has brought together an estimated 5,000 participants aged between 4 to 90 years.
 
The key activities of The 7th IREN Bukura Cultural Day will include: Bicycle racing, soccer, volley ball, netball, tug-of-war, running in gunny bags, balancing bottles, drama, poetry  and dance, essay writing competition, public speaking, enacting history, traditional  food   display,  improved seed display, brainstorming on community challenges  and key note address from guest speakers.

The IREN Bukura Cultural Day guest speakers have been drawn from high school headteachers, Luhyas based in Diaspora, representatives from Kajiado County; Bondo County; the Office of the President; Ministry for Youth Affairs officials, and experts on culture, agriculture and malaria control program.
