Advisor to Angela Merkel's Visit to Mau Forest

On his recent visit to Kenya, Dr. Gunter Nooke, the advisor to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on G8 and Africa; together with the German Ambassador to Kenya, Mrs. Margit Hellwig-Boette and Mr. James Shikwati, Director Inter Region Economic Network, toured Mau South Forest to assess the efforts to reclaim the Mau. Dr. Nooke later discussed at length issues of environment and food security with Mr. Shikwati.

The delegation is received by pupils at Naisoya Primary School on the fringes of Mau South Forest
