Opportunity to Impact Business Leadership Skills on Kenyan Youth

SIFE Kenya has invited top CEOs and MDs from 60 corporations to spend 10 hours with top university student members drawn from 16 SIFE Kenya affiliate universities (both public and private). An estimated 600 university students will participate. The objectives of this forum include:-

• To expose business leaders to unique business development opportunities
• To expose university students to leadership challenges and opportunities
• To showcase business and entrepreneurship projects by SIFE Kenya affiliate universities in a bid to win the coveted national title and travel to USA in October 2012 for the SIFE World Cup competition.

The 2012 SIFE Kenya National champion will participate at the SIFE World Cup in Washington D.C, USA. September 30 – October 3, 2012

Who Should Participate?

Registered SIFE University students, faculty and administrators from SIFE Kenya affiliate universities; invited business leaders; media and non SIFE affiliate universities on observer status. Interested business leaders with demonstrated evidence as CEOs and MDs are also welcome to join on the SIFE Kenya Judges’ Panel. Background about SIFE Kenya

SIFE Kenya was launched in 2003 as a partnership between SIFE International and the Inter Region Economic Network (IREN). SIFE is an international organization mobilizing university students around the world to make a difference in their communities through outreach projects while developing skills to be socially responsible business leaders.

SIFE Kenya operates under the advice of the SIFE Kenya Business Advisory Council and SIFE Kenya Steering Council whose membership includes business leaders from both the private and public sectors. With an annual membership of over 600 active students from 16 Kenyan universities (both public and private), SIFE Kenya has nurtured over 3,000 young business leaders for the last 9 years.

Since its launch in Kenya, the following University teams have emerged winners and represented Kenya in international business and entrepreneurship competitions:-

• 2011 SIFE Kenya National Champion: Kabarak University (Private) –participated at the SIFE World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: October  3-5, 2011 (World Cup Semi Finalists)

• 2010 SIFE Kenya National Champion: Moi University (Public) – participated at the SIFE World Cup in Los Angeles, USA:10-12,2010 (World Cup Opening Round )

• 2009 SIFE Kenya National Champion: Maseno University (Public) –participated at the SIFE World Cup in Berlin, Germany: October  4-6, 2009 (World Cup Semi Finalists)

• 2008 SIFE Kenya National Champion : Moi University (Public) –participated at the SIFE World Cup in Singapore October  1-3, 2008 (World Cup Semi Finalists)

• 2007 SIFE Kenya National Champion: University of Nairobi (Public) –participated at the SIFE World Cup in New York, USA: October 10-12, 2007 (World Cup Semi-finalists)

• 2006 SIFE Kenya National Champion: University of Nairobi (Public) – participated at the SIFE World Cup in Paris, France, Sept 11-13, 2006 (World Cup Semi-finalists)

• 2005 SIFE Kenya National Champion: Moi University (Public) – participated at the SIFE World Cup in Toronto, Canada (World Cup Semi-finalists)

• 2004 SIFE Kenya National Champion: United States International University (Private) - Participated at the SIFE World Cup in Barcelona, Spain.

• 2003 SIFE Kenya National Champion: United States International University (Private) - participated at the SIFE World Cup in Mainz, Germany.
