The Inter Region Economic Network (IREN) and the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) jointly hosted the 4th IREN Sino - Africa Forum on June 11, 2012.

The forum  focussed on the following key points:-

1.Identify the impact of the international financial crisis on Kenya and Africa
2.Identify the potential impact of the Arab Spring revolution on sub Saharan African countries
3.Discuss possible new modalities in peace-keeping missions
4.Identify the weak links in bilateral cooperation championed by the Forum for China-African Cooperation (FOCAC)

The Chinese delegation  was led by Dr. Qu Xing (center), President CIIS; while Mr James Shikwati, Founder Director, Inter Region Economic Network (IREN Kenya) led the Kenyan team.
