Oman will be celebrating the African Unity Day starting May 24-26, 2006. The organizers of this event have an objective of recognizing and promoting the spirit of resilience exhibited by the African community in facing their challenges. The event will feature a presentation to students and a dinner dance at Al Bustan Hotel.

James Shikwati (Director Inter Region Economic Network) is expected to address the student body, provide the opening comments and begin festivities of the dinner. He will also share his vision of Africa.

Strategically positioned and the third largest country in the Arabian Peninsula, Oman lies in the tropic of Cancer providing a gate way between Indian Ocean, East Africa and the Arabia Gulf. Oman has a strong historical link with Africa dating to as early as 15th Century.
