United We Stand

Published on 9th May 2006

Beehives of activities are taking place this month. We had the World Labor Day, followed closely by the World Press Freedom Day. A high-powered delegation of legislators is currently meeting in Kenya. Still in store is the International Fast Against Malaria Day, International Day of Families and the World Telecommunications Day.

What could all this be teaching us? We need to encourage activities that boost productive labor. As we do this; let us not forget to live as a family. When we live as a family, we shall open up our borders. We shall shun regional and internal conflicts. We shall stand in unity against forces out to divide us. As Africans in Diaspora, we shall contribute towards the development of our countries of origin. As a global family, we shall not stand by and watch as our kin die of Malaria due to detrimental policies.

This issue explores the African image, focus and drive among other issues.
