Enactus Strathmore University Competes Virtually in the 2020 Enactus World Cup

Enactus Kenya national Champions – Strathmore University is competing virtually in the 2020 Enactus World Cup among other 31 universities across the globe. The virtual World Cup which is running from September 8 – 11, 2020 is being conducted online for the first time due to the adverse effects of Covid – 19 pandemic. This year, Enactus affiliate universities have developed innovations focused on solving the world's greatest challenges in both local and global communities. The Enactus World Cup also features top business, academic, and NextGen leaders advancing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The 2020 Enactus World Cup is offering experiential mission, vision and inspiration to LEAD CHANGE where #NextGenLeaders and Innovators are driving passionate projects into purpose-based businesses. The Competition has ongoing side events that comprises of executives, academics and NextGen Leaders. The LEAD CHANGE themes include climate action, oceans, reduced inequalities, rethink plastic, and the future of food, work and higher education.

Enactus Strathmore developed Agrarian Project, an innovative data driven platform that uses integrated sensors, cloud computing, and data driven analytics to measure farm conditions such as soil moisture, atmospheric temperature, humidity and light intensity.

Strathmore University which emerged the overall winners in the Kenya’s national expo was placed in the league five which has teams from Brazil, Korea and Egypt. Enactus World Cup has a total of eight leagues. Each league will present the best two teams that will proceed to the top 16 then 4 teams will compete at the finals to determine the winner.

Enactus is the world's largest experiential learning platform dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of leaders. Since 2003, Enactus Kenya has participated in 17 National and International Business and Entrepreneurship Competitions that involve undergraduate students.

Enactus Kenya has a total of 3,000 registered student members who have impacted lives for the 18 years through community outreach projects, training, thematic events, annual national business competitions and the annual Enactus World Cup. Enactus Kenya continues to seek and create a partnership between business and higher education and equip students with innovative ideas that attract investment through community projects, knowledge sharing and competitions.
