Pete Ward confers with Students
SIFE Kenya (Students in Free Enterprise) students were hosted at a special entrepreneurship session by Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Limited.

The event brought over 200 university students to hear from Pete Ward, one of UK’s most promising Internet innovators. Ward, a millionaire aged 30 is co-founder and CEO of wayn.com (Where Are You Now?), the world’s leading social networking site for travellers, which has over 14 million members. The SIFE students gained from the resourceful businessman who shared his experiences on how WAYN was conceived and grown to a multi-million company.

“Pete Ward is a fantastic example of someone with a great idea, that had the commitment and determination to turn it into a business reality and I am sure many of the SIFE Kenya members have been inspired to do even better,” said the Vice President of Kenya, Honorable Kalonzo Musyoka, who also attended the event.

In his remarks during the session, Pete said, “sharing my experiences will hopefully motivate and inspire SIFE Kenya members with many ideas – that can be turned into profitable businesses.”

Coca-Cola supports the growth of enterprise, at a global, regional as well as local level. “We are pleased to partner with SIFE in 9 countries in Africa. We value our partnership with SIFE because of the positive impact the organization has had on students around the world,” said Nathan Kalumbu, President – Coca-Cola East and Central Africa.

SIFE Kenya Country Director, James Shikwati said the exposure the SIFE students have gained from the new ideas and technologies presented at the conference as well as the inspiration from the successful, young digital entrepreneur was priceless.
