Considering the broadband infrastructure growth in Kenya, today cybercriminal activity in the region is becoming rife – in fact, cybercrime has been noted as one of the biggest challenges for the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology, in Kenya, according to the Cabinet Secretary. In line with this, the Kenyan Government declared war on cybercriminals in May 2013– which certainly indicates the severity of the issue in the country.
Given this severity, Kaspersky Lab will host a media forum, to discuss this business reality further. Bethwel Opil, Channel Sales Manager for East Africa at Kaspersky Lab will unpack the data collected from the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN), which placed Kenya 80th on the list of countries where hosting services are used by cybercriminals, in thee forum.
Participants will gain further insight into the Kenyan IT security threat landscape and how businesses should go about protecting their critical business data.
