Moi University Enactus Team to Represent Kenya at Enactus World Cup in London

The Enactus Kenya Expo 2017 National Champions, Moi University students are set to represent Kenya in the upcoming Enactus World Cup 2017 in London (UK) from September 26-28. Enactus Moi University team is to compete with Enactus teams drawn from 36 countries around the globe. The contestants will present their community development projects to over 500 business leaders serving as judges. Enactus Moi University Team will also showcase some of the Kenyan Cultures during the World Cultural Experience Session.

Enactus Moi University captured first place during the 15th Enactus Kenya National Expo held in June, with their project dubbed “Waste for Wealth” which involves using organic waste to make tables hence creating a source of income for people in Moi University and its environs. The project also curbs increase of plastic and glass waste. This year’s edition of Enactus Kenya National Expo attracted 18 universities (both public and private) from all over Kenya. 

Launched in 2002, Enactus Kenya operates under an MOU between the Inter Region Economic Network (IREN) and Enactus Worldwide. The Enactus Kenya platform forms a foundation where students gain necessary skills to participate in Start-ups, SMEs and Technology Innovation initiatives.  Enactus Kenya has facilitated skills development for over 4,500 undergraduate students through experiential learning. This has been achieved through community projects, training and annual national and international competitions organized by Enactus Kenya for the last 15 years.

Enactus mission is to create a partnership between business and higher education and equip students with innovative ideas that attract investment through community development projects, knowledge sharing and competitions. Enactus Kenya operates under a Business Advisory Council that comprises 9 members.
