Kusi Ideas Festival Spirit Good for Africa

Published on 11th December 2019

The 2019 Kusi Ideas Festival was held at the Intare Conference arena in Kigali, Rwanda. The Festival, organised by Nation Media Group (NMG), brought together various stakeholders and leaders led by Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi, and African Union Infrastructure Envoy Raila Odinga, among other dignitaries.

The strategic platform aimed at looking back at Africa over the past 60 years and setting the pace for the next 60 years in terms of food security, a borderless continent, climate change and security, among other issues.

The festival sets the right trend for Africa to break from the usual 5 year thinking to long term thinking. Nations that have advanced rhink long term. They imagine the world in the next 100 years and align themselves to play a meaningful role amidst emerging trends. They are proactive as opposed to reactive. The Kusi spirit should be embraced by all African countries.
