African Farmers to Feed the World by 2050

The African farmer has a great responsibility ahead; to feed Africa and the entire world. “The World will not be able to feed itself by 2050 without the African farmer” says Jossette Sheeran, Executive Director of the World Food Program (Bloomberg, accessed December 16, 2010). The good news for the African farmer comes from Professor Calestous Juma’s book “The New Harvest.” The Harvard based professor points out that Africa can feed itself in a generation (BBC, accessed December 16, 2010).
