The IREN Roundtable on Kenya's Alcohol Policy

The Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010 was received with much celebration and consternation in the same measure. The law was celebrated in anticipation that it was to finally tame illicit brews and reduce the harm caused by alcoholic drinks. Industry players were alarmed that the government had enacted a law without clear guidelines on how to implement it. 

The Inter Region Economic Network (IREN) will host a half day session to enable key stakeholders share the status of the implementation of this law on June 7, 2011 from 10.00am - 2.00 pm at  Sarova Pan Afric Hotel. This forum will seek answers to the following questions:-

1.What are the successes of the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010?
2.What are the challenges facing the enactment of the law?
3.What is the stakeholders' feedback?
4.What is the way forward? 

The objective of this forum is to share information and inform the public on the latest developments on the "Mututho law."
