The 2nd IREN Kenya Brainstorming Session on the status of the implementation of The Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010

Time: 2.00pm – 5.00pm

As a follow-up to the 1st IREN Kenya Brainstorming Session on the Status of The Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010;  The Inter Region Economic Network (IREN) is honored to host the second forum whose objectives will be as follows:-

* Discuss the “Alcoholic Drinks Control (Amendment) Bill 2011

* Share New Information and Responses to the 8 points raised on 7th June, 2011 meeting namely: Need for a balanced scientific study; Resolving labeling dispute; Awareness campaign; Amicable relations between NACADA and the alcohol Industry; Proposed amendments to The Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010; Disagreements on promotions and adverts; Need for inclusion and feedback from NACADA and need to bring on board the informal sector.

* Set joint objectives and commission a study on issues addressed by The Alcoholic Drinks Control Act 2010

* Issue a Joint Communiqué on way forward on addressing the positive objectives and spirit of the “Mututho Laws” 

The half day follow-up session is open to organizations and individuals keen on the above objectives on first come-first get invited basis.
