Information Technology Threatens Africa's Food Security

Information Technology (IT) while driving up standards of living Africa has sacrificed the much needed quest to focus on food production technologies. IT is dangerously overemphasized to the extent that it has become synonymous with technology itself (Bloomberg.com; accessed January 17, 2012). Africa’s youthful human resource focus more on IT related industries as opposed to evolving relevant technologies that can drive up food security on the continent.
