The United States of America is facing a devastating drought that threatens to plunge the world into a new food crisis. The worst US drought in 50 years has pushed commodity prices to record high with Corn and Soya bean surpassing the peaks of 2007/08 (Cnbc.com; accessed July 20, 2012).
