Africa Must Invest in Water Management Policies
The drought ravaging parts of the United States of America has re-focused global attention on food and water security. The quest for food security in Africa calls for use of advanced agricultural technologies and access to water. It is estimated that small scale irrigation technology to access groundwater in Sub Saharan Africa countries would cost indiviual growers USD 250 or more but could improve crop yields by between 75 to 275% ( Reuters.com; accessed August 27, 2012).
