CALL FOR PAPERS

THEME: Contemporary Issues in Education in Africa

DATE: July 18-20, 2013

VENUE: Riara University Campus, Nairobi

INTRODUCTION:  The School of Education at Riara University, Nairobi, will be hosting its first annual conference on Education in Africa from July 18-20, 2013.

The theme of this conference, “Contemporary Issues in Education”, focuses on pertinent issues surrounding Education in Africa. Research findings, Success stories, Experiences,   Challenges and problems, as well as Theoretical Concepts are some ways of reporting what is going on in the field of Education in Africa today. We therefore welcome you to submit your abstract and paper towards the conference.

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: Scholars and researchers in the general field of Education are invited to send abstracts on proposed papers by April 20th, 2013. Abstracts should be in the range of 250-300 words. Presenters are expected to submit their completed papers by May 30th. Selected papers will be published by  Riara University  Journal of Education. All abstracts and complete papers should be sent as e-mail attachments in Microsoft Word format to the mail:  [email protected] 

Sub themes of the Conference: Abstracts submitted may fall under any of the following subthemes. Possible topics are provided below each sub-theme but abstracts in other related areas are welcome:

1. CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION AND DELIVERY

2. EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT

3. DEMOCRATIZATION AND EDUCATION

4. HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY  IN EDUCATION

5.EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

6. GUIDANCE, COUNSELLING  AND MENTORING

7. LAW AND EDUCATION

8. EDUCATION AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT

Paper Format: To be accepted for publication, papers should follow the APA citation format, be double-spaced and be no more than 20 pages, including References (this may vary in cases where there are diagrams or charts inserted).

Registration Fees: The fees charged will include Registration, breakfast, Lunch and End of Conference Dinner Party. Participants will be responsible for their dinner (other than the closing day) and accommodation (Accommodation can be organized on Request).
