The ongoing Fourth African Green Revolution Forum at the African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia comes at a time when 200 million Africans are chronically malnourished; and 5 million annually die of hunger. Drawing participation from over 800 leaders who comprise farmers associations, agribusiness companies, research institutes and non-governmental organisations and African Governments, the forum will tackle various topics such as: Increasing food productivity and ending hunger; Research and Technology; Sustainable agriculture; Commodity Markets and Trade; Inclusive agriculture and Increased financing along the value chain.
Recognizing that over 65% of Africa’s youth are aged below 35 years and that this vibrant constituency have useful ideas that can spur agribusiness in Africa, Agribiz4africa, a partnership between Syngenta and Enactus Kenya will also feature 6 Africans under 30 to present their message on enterprise development in selected agricultural crop value chains. To transform Africa’s youthful population into a demographic dividend; proactive concerted efforts are required to give young people avenues to explore opportunities.
