It is with deep sorrow that IREN mourns the passing on Prof. Mwangi Kimenyi at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, after a long illness. He was a good friend of IREN and served on the organisation’s advisory board from 2001-2008. He was also a senior fellow and former director of the Africa Growth Initiative in the Global Economy and Development programme of the Brookings Institution.  He was the founding executive director of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis and also served as member of the board of directors of Equity Bank.
