Kabarak University (Main Campus) Tops Student Business Competition

Kabarak University (Main Campus) was crowned the 2015 National Champion during the 13th Edition of the Enactus Kenya National Business and Entrepreneurship Competition that was held at Kenyatta International Conference Centre (Nairobi) on July 4, 2015. They will proceed to Johannesburg, South Africa later in mid October this year for the Enactus World Cup, to battle it out with other university teams from 37 countries worldwide. Nazarene University clinched the second position while Egerton University (Nakuru Town Campus) was ranked third.

Kabarak University students initiated 2 projects dubbed Kabu Fuel and Smart Paint. The Kabu Fuel Project saw reduction in plastic pollution in Nakuru town by 74%, led to job creation and rehabilitated Lake Nakuru and the Gioto Dum site. The Smart Paint project introduced natural and nontoxic ingredients for making paint. The cases of paint related illnesses in Gioto reduced by 75% and over 650 houses painted using the friendly Smart paint.
