GES: A Learning Moment for Africa

Published on 22nd July 2015

President Barack Obama this week visits his father’s homeland for the first time as president, fulfilling a promise he made to travel to Kenya before he leaves the White House. The president last visited Kenya in 2006 when he was in the Senate.

Mr. Obama will grace the 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, an event that brings together business leaders, non-governmental organization workers and government officials. That he has chosen to visit the country on the platform of entrepreneurship is a big message that business solutions are an answer to Africa’s challenges. May this be a learning and strategizing moment for Kenya, and by extension, entrepreneurs from Africa, on how the world works. Welcome home, President Barrack Obama!
