Inter Region Economic Network will host The 14th IREN Eastern Africa Media Forum on March 31st – April 1st, 2016 at Sarova Whitesands in Mombasa.  The event will focus on The African Agency in Geopolitical Affairs and The Role of Media in Africa’s global agenda. The forum will bring together The Eastern Africa Media and specialists in Geopolitical Affairs for a two-day session.

The forum will provide a platform for  media practitioners to brainstorm on geopolitical issues. The forum's objectives are to  determine the extent and impact of Africa’s involvement in Geopolitical affairs; to discuss factors limiting African agency in geopolitical affairs; and to suggest steps for strategic and sustained African agency in geopolitical affairs.

For the last thirteen years, IREN has trained over 500 journalists and communicators from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Zambia and South Sudan who cover business, governance and other developmental issues.
