Moi University Enactus Team at The Enactus World Cup – 2016 in Toronto, Canada 

The Enactus Kenya Expo 2016 National Champions, Moi University students are representing Kenya in the ongoing Enactus World Cup 2016 in Toronto, Canada. Enactus Moi University team is to compete with Enactus teams drawn from 36 countries around the globe. The contestants will present their community outreach projects to over 1,000 business leaders serving as judges. Enactus Moi University Team will also showcase Kenya’s Swahili culture. “We chose to showcase Swahili culture since Kiswahili language is the bedrock that unifies Kenya and the East African region” said, Ms. Salma Abdulatiff, the student team leader from Toronto, Canada.   

Enactus Moi University Team projects range from awareness campaign on dangers of illicit brews in Uasin Gishu County; use of mobile phones to curb child mortality by alerting mothers on immunization calendar and access to clean water in Naivasha (Nakuru County) by cheaper fluoride reduction techniques. The competition process kicks off this evening.  

Enactus mission is to create a partnership between business and higher education and equip students with innovative ideas that attract investment through community projects, knowledge sharing and competitions. Enactus Kenya operates under a Business Advisory Council that comprises 14 members.
