The Brexit referendum in June 2016 and US  President Donald Trump's moves to interrogate, change  or  exit from the existing world order  point to the fact that the Western world, as we know it, is on the threshold of a catalytic upheaval. The long held liberal political underpinnings in America and Europe are giving way to a mixture of  isolationist nationalism and shifting of alliances.  Is it the beginning of the end of the existing world order that was established following WWII? Is a new world order being created? Africa must not sit by and be a spectator as the current events unfold. It is urgent that the continent urgently strategizes on how to navigate the impending new world order as it will have a domino effect on the continent.
